This is the first time the rock diva and femme-fatale Ely Guerra detaches from her record label EMI and goes independent.  In order to promote and support this new project, Fabrikalink asked the guerrera a few questions on her new production, "Hombre Invisible".

by Jessica Roiz
It has been four years since Sweet & Sour, Hot y Spicy was released.  In between, Guerra has released two live albums and when asked what was the process of Hombre Invisible, Guerra stated "this album creatively took me about three years to realize".  She later clarified that this is her first production that is not under a record label and is under her own company.

In this production, Guerra had the opportunity to work with Enrique Bunbury, Juanes, Meme from Cafe Tacuba, and other great artists.  "In reality, we have special guests, we didn't do duets or formulas.  More than anything, we were involved in musical laboratories with these artists", these men participate in most of the songs, yet we may not know who is behind these tracks and that concludes the name of the album, "Hombre Invisible".

If you observe the visual art of the album, I promise you, it will overwhelm you.  Ely Guerra uses four animals; an owl, a horse, a panther, and a ram and one way or another merges herself into these four.  I was curious to find out the meaning behind the photography and Guerra explained "I used these four animals as an artistic measure to make this situation more diplomatic".

With the release of Hombre Invisible in the US, Ely Guerra is also busy with other projects, such as El Biccentenario, where she was chosen to interpret "La Llorona".  Guerra also hopes to include Miami in her agenda, where she gladly said "We want to go, of course!", when asked about a future gig in our city.

As the interview reached it's end, the ecclectic Ely Guerra left Fabrikators a special shoutout "I hope to be with you guys in Miami but in the meantime music unites us in this distance".

Do not miss out on Hombre Invisible, which will be officially out in the US tomorrow, June 8.
