Fans had to wait 11 years for Portishead's 2008 LP, Third, but their fourth record is already in progress, according to member Geoff Barrow. "We're going to start writing and if all goes well it could be [out] in a year's time," he told the BBC.
And since the group is currently label-less, Barrow hinted that the new music may not be released as a traditional LP, telling NMEthat Portishead have "big plans" for a new project coming "from a different angle." It doesn't get much more vague than that, but at least we get new music fast!
