The kind of cold night started with a warm up set by Mr. Pauer (Toto Gonzalez) spinning a great selection of world dance tracks and some cumbia mashup. A little after 12 was the time for the awaited Choc Quib Town who not only was its debut in the USA, but the debut for many of the soon-to-be-fans who quickly adopted the band. CQT played amazing tracks from "Oro" including "De Donde Vengo Yo", "El Bombo", "Somos Pacifico", "Mi Musica" and "Pescao Envenenao". A full band and great performance was the key for a show that captivated the audience asking for more.
After CQT, was time for Locos Por Juana, Miami's best-kept secret and best band in town, period! An aggressive dual trombone, a couple of guest MC, and amazing arrangements kept the flow and energy going nonstop. Itagui, the lead singer has the potential to lead the masses with his pinky finger and his eyes closed. New songs from their upcoming EP "Evolucion" were previewed.
The highlight of the night was when Locos invited Choc Quib Town on stage to improvise and to celebrate Tostao's birthday on stage.
This was the launch of Miami's funkiest monthly event TUMBAO produced by New Image Live and Fabrika.
