Description
Join the Eleazar Delgado Studio in the heart of Wynwood Art District this Saturday and every 2nd Saturday for a night of beautiful Miami-inspired art with the beautiful "Behind the Lights" collection currently on display. Visit the artist's workshop and maybe even catch him painting live as he walks you through his process in a "behind-the-scenes" setting not typical of the Wynwood Art Walk galleries.
Born in Oklahoma and raised in Caracas,
Venezuela, Eleazar Delgado studied architecture and interior design at
the Universidad Central de Venezuela, and there is where he began his
architectural explorations. During the 1980’s, Delgado fell in the love
with Miami’s vivid colors and its native surroundings and it was the
radiant sunshine and the gleaming colors of the night that influenced
his choice to paint the story of Miami through the “Behind the Lights”
collection.
In this series, architecture, design and art come
together to reveal the innate transparency of the self. Created in and
inspired by Miami, “Behind the Lights” is a true mirror image of the
beauty and complexity behind Miami’s historical figures. In a second of
abundant light your vision is impeded, causing you to squint. It is in
that second glance that the story is revealed.
With this
collection, Eleazar ventures out and explores the relationship between
history and nature, fully illustrating the story of those who fashioned
the Miami we know today. His use of bold, bright colors and geometric
patterns brings to life the indigenous plants, animals, landmarks and
the Miami visionaries who saw beyond the wilderness. Because of their
enthusiasm and courage, this collection was born.
