What started off as two friends making music just for fun, turned into three souls making their "just for fun" music into an enchanting experience for the public eye.  They are the musical revolution that the Miami local scene needed.  Meet Juan "Nacho" Londono, Eddie Moreno, and Anthony Genovese; Arboles Libres.

Arboles Libres is a project that began in early February and has progressed immensely throughout the year.  Much so, that this week is extra important with the debut of their self-titled EP and the release party (Wed. 9.22.10 @ Bardot – 3456 N. Miami Ave).  With so much going on for Arboles Libres, the least we can do at Fabrika is give you a heads up on how awesome the EP is.

They relate to their music in one simple phrase "free from the confines of a genre", meaning fuse just about any rhythm such as experimental rock, blues, and folk and make it appealing.  Their self-titled EP consists of five fresh tracks ranging between English and Spanish lyrics with variety of ambrosial sounds.

“Aurora” is what I like to call a sweet lullaby due to the richness of the acoustic guitar accompanied by the soothing “la la la’s”. The simplicity of the lyrics and beat make “Aurora” a meaningful love song. From something so tender we go into their edgier side found in “Comienzos”, a splendid song with Spanish words and English chorus and we can’t leave behind the kick-ass electric guitar riffs and drum strokes in the back. “Yellow Man”, to my own critic, starts off with a flair of Chile’s Los Bunkers and 3 or 4 minutes into the song, that flair magically sounds like Pink Floyd, at this moment your ear buds are undergoing (what can possibly be) the best seven minutes they have ever experienced. Lyrically, I like “The Spirit Of”, mainly because my love life has been a total wreck and I enjoy how this head-bopping and feet-tapping song speaks to my entire stock of mal de amores! It’s the song anyone can dedicate to the spirit of [insert name of atrevido or atrevida here]. The ending of this 30 minutes and 40 seconds EP concludes with “Dry your tears”, notching it down from the middle ruckus to something more soft. The lyrics found in “Dry your tears” are direct and broad enough that it will make you think of a friend, a current or past lover, and even a loved one who has passed away. Towards the ending of "Dry your tears", I can sense the “Pink Floyd” again, but honestly, it’s what made it an impacting fin to the Arboles Libres first EP.
