This day finally arrived and it is nothing but a thrill jamming to Jarabe de Palo again.
The Spaniard Latin rock band, Jarabe de Palo are beginning 2011 with their eigth studio album, following "Orquesta Reciclando". The production is called "Y Ahora Que Hacemos?", an album consisting of 13 brand new songs and with the collaboration of some of the big names in the industry.
Before I go into depth with the tracks, I must warn you that this album is dedicated to the sad world of break-ups and make-ups; the title, track list, and album cover give off that vibe, and that is exactly what the lyrics revolve around in "Y Ahora Que Hacemos".
You have the first three singles "Yep", "Para Enredar" and "Alas"; all similar in rhythms with giddy guitars riffs and that natural latin rock flair, yet there's a lyrical balance between complaint and optimism.
In this album, Jarabe de Palo is joined by great talents such as Alejandro Sanz featured in the cover "La Quiero a Morir" and Antonio Orozco featured in the sappy piano ballad "Frio". The gem from this bunch is when Jarabe de Palo is joined by Joaquin Sabina and Carlos Tarque in "Hice algunas cosas", making this musical exerience unique with it's touch of classic rock and trova.
Some of the songs are about self-blame, others point the finger. Who knows what type of personal stuff happened between his last production and this one, but it resulted in a sorrowful experience for thee heartbroken and an exquisitie production for the fans!
Other reccommendations: Nina Sara, Tu me Hacias Sonreir, Breve Historia de un Musico Persona.
