Here is a production made to admire...

Andre Echeverri, lead volcalist of the Colombian duo, Aterciopelados, has released her solo sophomore album.  Eleven new tracks form "Dos," an album, which compared to her debut album dedicated to maternity, is focused on peace, harmony, and feminism.

The album begins with "Mis 32 Dientes," a soothing lullaby-like track fused with relaxing nature sounds.  Moving on, comes an appealing track called "Paciencia,"  the song, aside the fact that its about patience, is a bit accelerating with its country inspired melody and peculiar repetetive whistling.  "Yo" is the first single of the album, which the video casero was featured in our Just Fabrikated section.  I will admit that I did not find the song that attractive and was indeed disappointed, but along the lines, you figure out that the essencia there are the lyrics, in which Andrea makes it clear that she is herself and not like anyone else.  "Paquete de Picos" is the closing track, which with its positive vibes and happy melody is a tender dedication to the Argentine singer, Gustavo Cerati.

So why is this production admirable?  Well, Andrea Echeverri made this neat album in the comfort of her own home.  She was incharged of all the instrumental arrangements, like the bass, percussion, wind instruments and more.  She did have some help, but not from her partner Hector, but from her mother, her daughter, and husband, who participated in many of the chorus.  In the end, "Dos," symbolizing the peace sign with the fingers, is an album which not only focuses on peace, harmony, and feminism, but also on the importance of family.
