Could this be the dessert to their 2010 debut Sistema Solar or the appetizer for an upcoming album?
Mercedes Nasta (vocals), Julian Placencia (bass, guitars), Nariño Tierno (keyboards), Peto (DJ, programming, visual concept), and Victor Pito (drums) make up Disco Ruido. What started off in 2006/2007 as a small gigs, house party kinda band, evolved into Mexico's latest indie sensation. Disco Ruido became well-known with the release of their single "Mrs. Love," based on The Beatle's "You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)." In 2010, Disco Ruido released their debut album called Sistema Solar, and they have recently released their EP Morfeo. In other words, these guys and their quartz pop are here to stay!
3 songs worth listening:
- "Morfeo" (Yamil Rezc Remix): Disco Ruido's "Morfeo" is a very mellow-toned, graceful, and cinematic track, but in the hands of Yamil Rezc it's a whole other story. This single takes you to the galactic side of dance, with it's clever synth frequencies and it's attractive up-tempo beats.
- "Magnetic Pluto" (Origami Remix): In this track, Disco Ruido does the"cross-over", where we can enjoy the English side of their talent. The combination of Mercedes angelic voice and Origami's bangin' remix can clearly give the meaning to emotronic, emo mixed with electronic.
- "Amorfos" (She's a Tease Remix): It is hard to depict the difference in Disco Ruido's Amorfos versus She's a Tease Remix. Both tracks are appealing to the ear with catchy electronic beats.
This album makes me want to: a) ride in Epcot Center's ball b) become part of NASA c) watch Back to the Future.
