Sounds more like electropop geography.
For being a short album (8 songs total) Body Language's sound is all over the place but the vocals make it all cohesive, particularly Anjelica Bess who serves as the Yukimi Nagano to their Little Dragon. They sound like a well traveled band inspired by worldly sounds but when they go back home to Williamsburg they listen to Animal Collective during the day and all the new electro stuff we probably won't know about for another 3 months at night.
3 Songs Worth Listening:
- "We Got Enough" - The darkest song in the album, and my favorite. The opening pulse is very catchy, and the overall song is quite hypnotizing. Reminds me of Berlin at night.
- "Falling Out" - I don't particularly like disco. Not classic disco, not nu-disco, not italo-disco. No disco. But I like this song. Imagine that. Also, Pharell probably wishes he'd come up with this one, and there's cowbell. I'm a sucker for cowbell.
- "Seeds of Sight" - It 's just a feel good world inspired vibe. Think Vampire Weekend's chill manner with Friendly Fire's beats, with some more Vampire Weekend in the Caribbean.
This album makes me want to: get ready for a night of fun.
