Spanish chanteuse's latest album has more funk, spunk, and charm to offer behind that sweet voice and guitar.
The first track in Bela y sus Moskitas Muertas is a Spanish adaptation of Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody". This concept could either go terribly wrong or impressively well and Beatriz manages to score the latter. "Alguien" sounds like a breezy and hopeful song
At first, the album sounds like a day at the beach. Bicycle riding, reggae head-bobbing, picnic basket carrying, sunny day at the beach. However, there comes a moment when that Jamaican rum starts running through the system and you feel some Caribbean spice flooding the airwaves. While the buzz comes down as easy as it goes up, her sweet voice is there catch the fall.
3 Songs Worth Listening
- "Platos Rotos" - The first taste of raw passion in the album comes from this track where a darker side of Beatriz Luengo is seen, and I like it.
- "Lengua" - Afro vibes, sexy vocals, good times.
- "Flor de Loto" The backing brass really makes this song.
This song makes me want to: Kick my shoes off, have some beers, and eat ceviche.
