Bringing back the best of Cuban son from the late 1940s.
Mambolero All Stars and Camellia Sessions bring you Mambolero Vol. 1, a mix/match of 13 of the best mambo's and bolero's of all times. A nostalgic album that will have everyone enjoying the authenticity of these two genres. This is a must have Christmas present for your grandparents and parents, heck, and why not grab a copy yourself! I know my household will be a proud owner of Mambolero Vol 1, since my father is a declared "bolerista" and for as long as I can remember this is what plays in our house every Sunday morning.
3 Songs Worth Listening To:
- "Usted" is the bolero of Gabriel Ruiz. The Spanish guitar, the sensual saxophone and the slow-tempo congas, give this piece its elegance. The lyrics of devotion and declaration, give it its romanticism.
- "Bonito y Sabroso" is a popular tune comparing the similarities of Mexico and Cuba, especially in how they dance the mambo. Benny More must have had a splendid experience in Mexico, it reflects in this "bonito y sabroso" mambo tune.
- "Inolvidable" is the bolero you would want to dance en un ladrillo with your significant other. This track gives great representation to the album, being a fuse of bolero and mambo, in an enticing, enjoyable, and romantic mambolero!
This Album Makes Me Want To: Be a late 1940s-early 1950s baby, instead of a 1986 baby.
