This is lucky number seven for The Black Keys. Not many bands can put out seven albums and have them all be as equally impressive. Hold on tight, this album will give you synesthesia.

A decade since their first album, and after many versatile styles and influences, The Black Keys are back with their seventh album, El Camino. This hit album takes you on a ride back four decades, but manages to give rock n' roll a modern twist . With a deliciously danceable sound and originally flavorful riffs, this band takes their new record to the top of the charts, making this one of the best sounds of 2011. Heck, why not ring in the new year with their latest single, “Lonely Boy” blasting through your speakers? Paving this generation with an old school harmony, even somebody born in Miami, the heart of hip hop music, can enjoy this whimsically earthy sound. Who doesn't like distorted guitars or lusty drums?! The Black Keys give fuzz guitar pedals a new name, and this is no surprise seeing these Akron, Ohio natives were thoroughly inspired by such artists as The Clash and The Cramps. Psychedelic much? This band got their name from a schizophrenic that used to leave incoherent messages on their answering machine, calling them “black keys” or “D flat”. Give that guy some credit, we love the Black Keys, and we can all be a little flat. Top that with some entrancing Jim Morrison-esque vocals and you have a soulful rock n roll album.

3 Songs Worth Listening:

  1. "Hell of a Season" - Great drops and transitions, masterfully put together.
  2. "Lonely Boy" - 2012's new rock n' roll dance-floor anthem for those that truly love music.
  3. "Dead and Gone" - This song reminds me of The Clash's “Magnificent Seven”, with smooth background vocals and group clapping.

This album makes me want to: rip this generation a new one!
