Proof that dreamy melodies, catchy synth hooks, and creative beats speak louder than words.
Coming from the land that gaves us The Whitest Boy Alive, Royksopp, and Datarock, it's not surprise to see that Casiokids' sophomore effort, Aabenbaringen Over Aaskammen, is clean, airy, and dreamy. The impressive difference here is that Aabenbaringen Over Aaskammen has seldom words in English and unlike their debut album it's being released worldwide, and for a musical market that is notorious for discriminating on non-English releases, I can see this album going a long way.
3 Songs Worth Listening:
- "Det Haster!" - The album's first single, and with good reason. Very Feist if it were remixed by Goldfrapp. Infectious rippling synth hooks, and violin back-beat.
- "Olympiske Leker" - It's tribal beats and pretty synth melody make it an overall pretty song. With a very kawaii style influence flooding the song half way through, you'll want to bop your head around.
- "London Zoo" - The pulsing beat, guitar streaks, and spacey feel will wrap you up.
This album makes me want to: go on a night time joy ride.
