Reginah-ah-ah! She's back better than ever with more orchestral sounds and her witty lyrics. "Far" is Regina Spektor's fifth studio album, if you still haven't gotten into her at this point, I sincerely recommend you do. But I must warn you, you must have an open mind because her stuff can get pretty silly... great, isn't it??
Although most of my peeps agree that her cover-art looks like an 8-year-old drew it--totally step backward there--after analyzing it a little better I noticed it is quite adorable. The bricks on the window tell you it's probably an apartment in NYC, and the fact that her piano is the only thing colorful and fantastic on that black and white world, depicts her only get away: Music. Most of the song in this album are quite uplifting, she took the "more-band" route on this one, and her tracks sound a lot like "Better" and "Fidelity" from her past release. Key tracks are "Eet", "Blue Lips", "Laughing With"--of course, a super adorable sad but happy song? We are all laughing with God, she claims. "Dance Anthem Of The 80's" is a remake of one of her oldies, super fun and with a music video holding a $10 budget.
If you've never heard Regina, listen to "Laughing With". But I recommend you listen to her other albums, and I guarantee you'll fall in love.
