Why are the best electronic-dance groups so underrated? I can't say I know why, but I will help you guys out and open your eyes to Zoot Woman, if you aren't aware of their insane-ness. So take 80's synth dance and mix it with some british boys, flashy colors and serious faces and the 2000's. You get Zoot Woman, featuring of course, Stuart Price, famous for producing and remixing artists like Madonna, The Faint, Missy Elliot, The Killers, Keane and Gwen Stefani, between others. His genius helps create the beats of Zoot Woman, a band who has recently released "Things aren't what they used to be", their third album down the line of make-you-get-up-n'-dance.
This album is filled with electronic 'noises', airy vocals and uplifting ballads. Some songs are a little softer than in the past, as they don't pump their bass into your ears, they have a dreamy sound and the whole album is an ocean of synths. Luckily, they also have tracks like "Live in My Head" to keep you going, starting with a catchy 3 beat line that repeats throughout. "We Won't Break" is pretty loud and fast paced, all their melodies have a way of pushing the listener out of their comfort zone, slipping under the most unknown places and making you smirk and bob your head.
Zoot Woman is almost effortlessly comfortable, they could be throwing their strongest or softest beats at you, and you won't even flinch in annoyance. In an elevator had a cocktail party they would play Zoot Woman.
Give it a listen! Don't forget to listen to their older stuff, as it will blow you away as well.
