For this comeback, Syntek came back very, well, Syntek! Blasphemous, sarcastic, and fun are the perfect words to describe Aleks Syntek latest album, "Metodos de placer instantaneo".
I'm not gonna deny that "Metodos de placer instantaneo" is impressively pop, but it's that giddy melody mixed with his unwinding voice that makes it a good pop, none of that Nsync crap.
The album is composed of 11 tracks: 1 acapella, 3 mellow balads, and the rest 100% cheerful and completely danceable. "Sin Motor" is one of my favorites, the up and down beats have me feeling like a bobble head. You can find Syntek experimenting with jazz and salsa in "Mujer Animal", a song ft. Ruben Blades. The single you might be most familiar with is "Loca", which has been out on radio stations and is the theme song for the novela, Los Exitosos Perez, which by the way, is also one of my favorites, I especially love when it gets to 1:47, 'no hago otra cosa mas que estar bailando, bailando' (literally). Also featured on the CD is the latin grammy winning collaboration with Luis Fonsi, David Bisbal, and Noel Schajris, "Aqui estoy yo”.
Aleks Syntek did not betray his music style because “Metodos de placer instantaneo” is entertaining, nostalgic, rock, pop, and romantic, very much like his previous stuff. Don't mean to be cheesy, but this album is without a doubt an instant pleasure. I absolutely love it, and this is coming from a person that wasn't too fond of Aleks Syntek to begin with.
