Everything evolves, people, trends and music. This is what Systema Solar has been working on since 2006 and as they say "Rhythm is the possibility of connecting the human species… and we are going to take care of that" … and no one can say otherwise.

Systema Solar is all about mixing all the goodness from Colombia, like cumbia, bullerengue, porro and champeta with electronic beats, hip hop and anything in between. They offer not only a different sound experience but also visuals to go with it and they call it "Berbenautica".

This musical and visual band presents their first self-titled CD "Systema Solar", in which you can enjoy the result of a flavorful collection of talents.

From the beginning they automatically grab your attention with "Bienvenidos", a cumbia/hip hop mix to give that first taste. (Check out their video down here).

"Mi Kolombia" talks about how they wouldn't trade Colombia for anything and it's clear why. They say "I'll stay in Colombia dancing cumbia… I won't abandon it 'cause my Colombia is unique". Great beat!

One of my favorite songs is "Sin Oficio". I find it very original, very honest and very well done music-wise. It talks about how a lot of people live in Colombia and Latinamérica in general; how they survive by working on the streets selling anything from peanuts to newspaper and never give up; always standing up to what life brings them.

"En Los Huesos" is a little more down tempo. You will feel like it doesn't belong with the other songs but you will enjoy it anyways. Reggae with an electronic twist accompanied with a very up-lifting lyric. The message is courage, not letting fear take over your day, get under your skin and into your bones.

The song "Chico" is as electronic as this album gets and also the only song with a female voice. It has a lot of breakbeats which makes it easy for you to close your eyes and imagine some break dancers spinning in your head.

To finish up we go back to the colombian sounds with "Fayaguaya," a very latin way of pronouncing "Firewire". This song reflects a lot of the good sense of humor and simple kind of life of the colombian people. It doesn't have any electronic beats just a little bass but other than that it's all about the colombian instruments and the fun lyric.

I had never heard anything like what this album has, something very latin yet contemporary. It's just so much fun to listen to. Go do yourself a favor and listen to these guys. Enjoy!
