With Spain being champs in the World Cup twenty-ten, it is only right to bring you more awesomeness from Spain, Los Punsetes and their recent production LP2!
In the last couple of years, Los Punsetes became one of the most talked about and relevant bands in the indie scene in Spain. It took them only 10 days to produce LP2. LP2 short forLos Punsetes -album number- 2 (I read somewhere in the web that they always have difficulties coming up with album names).
For beginners, it is one of those ¨monotone¨ albums, you know, the ones that have no emotion and no rhythm change. That´s allright though, because somehow, someway, these 12 dark indie pop tracks are catchy.
One of the first tracks that caught my attention was De Moda, mainly because of the beat, the simplicity of the drums and overall punkish feel becomes a bit addicting.
Tus Amigos, the first single from LP2, is quite crude and direct but nonetheless with a sweet sense of humor. The video (below) only adds to my statement.
A song we can all relate to is Dinero. A track, which is obviously dedicated to the benjamins. Ariadna (vocal) says it exactly how it is. I want money, I dont want to work, I want you to give it to me, and when you do, I won´t pay you back... yep, that´s basically the message sent. Sadly enough, many people have that mentality. WORK FOR YOUR MONEY, DAMMIT!
